The Gloves Been Off The Moment He Announced He Would Run For President.....

The 2012 U.S. Presidential Elections is a challenge for incumbent Barack Obama. Five years ago, then senator from Illinois was under fire for what was perceived as a constant whisper campaign by conservatives the moment he announced he would run for the President of The United States.

As he gears up for a reelection against the potential Republican nominee, I want to go back to the many things the Republican Party tired in sabotaging Barack Obama. The gloves been off, and now we'll see the very same characters go after President Barack Obama. They want to deny him a reelection.

1. The Insight Magazine online publication making the claim that Barack Obama attended a madrassa in Indonesia when he was young. Fox News commentators John Gibson, Steve Doocy, Gretchen Carlson and Brian Kilmeade took aim at Barack Obama by claiming that then senator Hillary Clinton and her presidential campaign were responsible for the claim. The Barack Obama campaign responds back and calls the notion false. The campaign begins the boycott of Fox News.

2. The issue with his record as then state senator from Illinois. A pro-life activist Jill Stanek makes the claim that she knew Barack Obama when he was then a state senator, and made the claim that Obama was not concerned with a legislative bill that would prevent late term abortions. The talking point from conservatives such as Sean Hannity, and presidential candidate Newt Gingrich were that "[Barack Obama] is killing babies by supporting infanticide!" This issue would also come to light when Randall Terry, Alan Keyes and Jill Stanek were protesting President Barack Obama attending University of Norte Dame for a commencement.

3. A prominent Chicago pastor became the lightening rod for Barack Obama. Jeremiah Wright, a former pastor at the Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago was the subject of various attacks from conservatives over his sermons in which it criticized the United States role in the world. Wright, a former U.S. military doctor was critical of issues by then President George W. Bush and Republicans, the Hillary Clinton presidential campaign taking using "racial politics" to scare white voters and the media for misquoting his sermons. Fox News, in particular Sean Hannity was invested in the controversy. Hannity had interviewed Wright during a segment of his show and they got into a heated debate over Barack Obama's association with the church. This issue continues to be a thing that most conservatives refuse to let go. Jeremiah Wright has long left the church and is doing speaking tours at colleges and theological seminaries. Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck, Bill O'Reilly, Rush Limbaugh, Andrew Breitbart, and particularly Fox News continue to rehash this issue up once again and the 2012 Republican candidates promise that this issue will be mentioned again.

4. If you weren't aware of the whisper campaign about being Muslim, you're way out the loop. The never-ending notion that President Barack Obama is a closet Islamist radical was mentioned by conservatives. A conservative activist by the name of Andy Martin claims responsibility for the rumors. This controversy has been active during the 2004 U.S. Senate campaign in which Barack Obama handily defeated perennial candidate Alan Keyes. During the campaign, the supporters of John McCain's presidential campaign were making references to claims of his name. Cincinnati talk radio host, Bill Cunningham went onstage and made acknowledgement of "Barack Hussein Obama" in attempt to rile up voters still concerned with the fact his name is somehow tied to Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein. The madrassa story from earlier was a driving force to making conservatives suspect the presidential candidate was somehow a Muslim who plots on destroying the United States from within. As President Barack Obama, the claims of being a Muslim will never go away. The very fact that he attended the Trinity United Church of Christ is not enough to stop that rumor. When President Barack Obama went to Egypt to speak to the Islamic nation, that flared up more rumors of him being a secret Muslim. Recently, U.S. marines created a controversy by burning the Islamic Q'uran in Afghanistan. The president reached out to the leader of Afghanistan and apologized for the actions. U.S. presidential candidates Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich alongside former Alaskan governor Sarah Palin went on the offense claiming that President Obama has more sympathy for the "Muslims" than those who killed U.S. soldiers.

5. The alleged affairs by Barack Obama. From a conspiracy kook to a former campaign adviser, the Republicans were hoping that another "Monica Lewinsky" scandal to fall upon Barack Obama. The first one, Larry Sinclair. This man who has been known in the circles as a conspiracy kook was flaring up the rumor that Barack Obama had a homosexual affair with him while on a cocaine binge. Sinclair claims that the president is paying huge sums to prevent the stories from ever hitting the newspapers. Vera Baker, a former campaign supporter and adviser was allegedly involved in a romantic affair with then candidate Barack Obama during the 2008 U.S. presidential elections. Although she denied it, The Drudge Report and many conservatives were hoping that "smoking gun" is still loaded and hoping this issue will become a 2012 October Surprise.

6. The never-ending birth certificate issue. What was started by a vexatious litigant named Andy Martin, the  rumors of President Barack Obama's birthplace continue to be a hot issue within the conservative circles. Talk radio host such as InfoWars founder Alex Jones, conservative talk radio hosts Rush Limbaugh, Bill Cunningham, Lou Dobbs, Fox News commentators such as Andrew Napolitano, Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity were invested in the birth certificate. Ongoing activist Orly Taitz, WorldNetDaily contributors Joseph Farrah, Dr. Jerome Corsi, and controversial Black preacher James David Manning invested the controversy. Many conservatives continue to deny the fact that Barack Obama is indeed an American citizen. In 2007, the whisper campaigns of him being a Kenyan came forth after the Washington Times, WorldNetDaily and The Drudge Report took upon "facts" from members of his estranged father's family. Barack Obama was born in Honolulu, Hawaii in 1961, and lived with his mother for a portion of his time growing up. During that time, he traveled from Hawaii, to Indonesia, back to Hawaii and then to the mainland. Before he became a U.S. senator, the rumors of his birthplace were mention but not to the degree as it is today. Barack Obama during the campaign released a short-form birth certificate stating his place of birth. That didn't satisfy conservatives. Orly Taitz leads the way in trying to bring lawsuits in federal court stating that she can prove Barack Obama is ineligible to be president. The conflict gotten worse. Donald Trump, a media mogul and potential candidate for president threw his weight into the debate. After a few moments of polling well against Mitt Romney, Sarah Palin and Chris Christie in a Republican match up against President Barack Obama, Trump decided to push the issue further by demanding the long form birth certificate. In April 2011, President Barack Obama presented the long form birth certificate. This issue hasn't went away. Taitz continues to push forth her lawsuits against President Obama and more conservatives are still unsure whether the president is an American citizen.

7. The guilt by association theme once again. With a former anti-war radical coming to light, Barack Obama once again has to defend himself from a person he knew only as a neighbor down the block. Bill Ayers, a retired professor at The University of Illinois branch Chicago became another issues conservatives pounced on. In the late 1960s at the peak of Civil Rights movement and anti-Vietnam protests, Ayers was a leader of the Weather Underground, an anti-war activist group that did domestic terrorism against political establishments. Sean Hannity once again rode this controversy all the way to the election. When former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin came forth during the election, her quote "palling around with terrorists", conservatives managed to sway opinion against the professor and of course Barack Obama. Ambushing Bill Ayers and his family with cameras, conservatives continue to demand Ayers come clean about his relationship with Barack Obama. Recently the issue was rehashed again after conservative agitators Andrew Breitbart and Tucker Carlson went on Sean Hannity's show claiming they've met and dine with the former professor. They believe that he was responsible for writing two of the president's successful books. The issue will not die and expect this continue throughout the election.

8. The culture war is brewing again. After the 2008 U.S. elections, one thing became clear, Republicans wanted to stick anything to Barack Obama. A woman named Peggy Joseph went on camera stating that Barack Obama was going to help her with her bills and make things alright. Conservative went into uproar. Two New Black Panthers were standing at a polling station in Black neighborhood. One holding a baton, and threatening the conservative videographers. They post it online, and it became a conservative outrage. In 2009, Henry "Skip" Gates was arrested at his home by police officer Robert Crowley. The president went forth to acknowledge the issue as a problem due to the unprecedented profiling of Black and Hispanic/Latino males being pulled over. Conservatives went into an uproar. The president goes on Jay Leno and makes a off-color joke that makes fun of his disabilities in certain sports, conservatives went into an uproar claiming the president doesn't respect those with special needs. The president throws the ceremonial baseball pitch, conservatives mock his pitching stance. The president wanted a basketball court added to the White House, conservatives went into an uproar. The president delivers a speech to the elementary and high school students, a traditional theme among previous presidents. Conservatives went forth to pulling their children out of school and boycotting the president's speech. Conservatives went forth to attacking the president, First Lady Michelle Obama and their children for taking vacations. The conservatives blamed the president for overreaching during two terrible hurricanes, the Gulf Oil spill in which BP was responsible, and of course, the continuous blame for the economy. A thing he's inherited since he took office. When the president won a Nobel Peace Price in 2009, conservative went into an uproar. When the president tried to get the Summer Olympics to Chicago and it was rejected, conservative cheered. Glenn Beck, claimed the president has a deep seated hatred for white people. Sarah Palin claimed that President Obama's "Winning The Future" was a "WTF" plan. Rush Limbaugh declared that he "hopes he failed". Bill O'Reilly and Bret Brier interrupts the president during an interview. Fox network omits the president's addresses to the nation for television programs such as Glee and American Idol. The saving of civilians overseas from Somali pirates, the killing of al-Qaeda leaders Osama bin Laden and Anwar al-Awlaki, conservatives give little to no credit for the president effective actions. The constant impatience of the public has waned on his popular and conservatives are relishing in defeating the president.

9. The beginnings of the Tea Party movement. In 2008, the bitter fight between Democratic presidential primaries between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. They managed to take this fight all the way to June 2008 and during that time, a lot of disgruntled Hillary-supporters vowed they'll ditch the Democratic nominee and vote for John McCain the Republican nominee for president. Some have forgotten about the women who were involved in the grassroots movements, such as People United Means Actions (PUMAs), Clintons 4 McCain and Hillbuzz. It's leaders include: Darragh Murphy, Harriet Christian, Christi Adkins and Debra Bartoshevich, former Democrats who claimed that Barack Obama is not worthy of the leading the United States. Most in the media dismissed them as "plants" for the Republican Party, ridiculed them for playing the gender and race card and pretty much wiped them out of the mainstream press.

In November 2008, when Barack Obama secured enough electoral votes to be declared the winner, Republicans look upon this as a disaster and vowed revenge. Most conservatives believe that Barack Obama was given a easy ride based on his race. The conservative bemoan about the media's focus on a historical milestone of nominating an African American for president. They blame Barack Obama for the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act and the Troubled Assets Relief Program. Although President Obama carried upon the actions of these laws, the signature of the final acts were by President George W. Bush. Republicans were upset upon President Obama signing of American Investment Job and Recovery Act in which is stimulate growth in the economy and helped middle class families with a tax cut.

These notions were rejected by conservatives. In February 2009, spurred by outrage at what conservatives claim is "government overreach", the Tea Party was born. What started as a mild protest composed of the cult followers of Republican Congressman Ron Paul of Texas, became the hub for people such as Glenn Beck, Sarah Palin, Herman Cain, Joe The Plumber and those disgruntled Hillary Clinton supporters. The disgruntled voters vowed that he will only serve out one term and they will rebound with a suitable president capable of "taking their country back!" They've sought motivation in Glenn Beck, Joe The Plumber, Andrew Breitbart, Dick Armey and even comedian Victoria Jackson.

The process of the Tea Party movement was spurn with disrespect upon the President Obama by Joe Wilson, Republican congressman from South Carolina with "You Lie!" upon the Joint Session of Congress speech. It gave rise to presidential candidate Michele Bachmann, congresswoman from Minnesota. It spurred angry town halls in which Democratic lawmakers were challenged on issues such as the health care reform. It motivated political minded conservatives of Black, Hispanic/Latino and Asian race to enter into politics. Black Republicans such Allen West of Florida, Tim Scott of South Carolina were elected on the motivation of the Tea Party. It help secure the first Latina Susana Martinez woman to be governor of New Mexico. It helped two Bobby Jindal of Louisiana and Nikki Haley of South Carolina to become the first of Indian/Asian decent to be governors of two southern states. The Tea Party managed to elect Senators Jim DeMint of South Carolina, Marco Rubio of Florida, Mike Lee of Utah and Rand Paul of Kentucky. The Tea Party help the Republicans retake the House of Representatives and state/territorial governorships.

Now as the 2012 elections gear up, these elements are still brewing. The Republicans are currently in disarray over the perceive notion that the field of Republican candidates are weak. The Tea Party is really upset with not only President Barack Obama but the Republican leaders as well. The dubbed the moderates and the politically established as RINOs (Republican(s) in Name Only). They are feuding within the party over who's capable of being a conservative leader capable of beating the president. So far, it's still long road ahead with the field and they hope that it can bring them together. In spite of the disarray, Republicans are rushing legislation such as voter identification to prevent Blacks, Hispanic/Latinos, the poor and young voters, a key demographic to Barack Obama from voting. The Republicans are planning to run campaigns to distract voters with culture war issues such as eliminating subsides for lower and middle class, rolling back regulations on the environment, and control a woman's right for birth control.

10. Once again, I stress that the Republican Party and its allies in the conservative movement are wrapping their asses around the American flag in preparedness of a culture war. The culture war has an enemy. The middle class, the working class, the lower class, minorities, [independent women and single mother's] rights, GLBT, those who practice in Islam, and the many supporters of President Barack Obama are considered enemies of the state. The Republicans passed legislation that catered to extremists. Since he took office, the race issue came forth after many Republicans were force to apologize for sending racist and downright offensive emails to their friends. Colorado Republican Congressman Doug Lamborn called President Barack Obama a tar baby. He later apologized. Arizona Republican Congressman Trent Franks questioned his birth certificate, and called him an enemy of humanity. Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky the Republican minority leader, stated his goal was to deny President Barack Obama a second term. Black conservatives play upon the narratives that President Obama is not an effective leader to the Black community. Glenn Beck targeting his former adviser Van Jones. Andrew Breitbart, James O'Keefe went after a community organization known as ACORN. They successful put ACORN out of business. The Republicans passed legislation to cut funding to NPR and Planned Parenthood. Republicans held public sessions to make the case against the Muslim community. The Republicans called for the firing of Attorney General Eric Holder for the mishandling of firearms in which it lead to the killing of a U.S. border agent. Holder, is the first Black attorney general. In states where Republicans were in control, some legislators passed laws that go against the federal government. State Republicans are passing legislation that targets illegal immigrants overstepping the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency. Concealed carry firearms in public places were passed in states. Republicans passed legislation to prevent abortions and outlaw birth control. Voter identification laws were passed to prevent lower incomes and minorities from voting. All these issues are certainly out there and people are not happy about the results.

Republicans are very unpopular right now. They spent a majority of the 112th Congress on culture war issues. The government overreach has made voters in swing states turn sour on the Republicans. Ohio governor John Kasich was handed a defeat after he and Ohio Republicans passed legislation that prevented public sector unions from collective bargaining. Wisconsin governor Scott Walker and Republican state senators are facing a recall election after the passage of a bill that also stripped collective bargaining from public sector unions. Florida governor Rick Scott is under fire for his signing of mandatory drug testing for food stamp and welfare recipients and the rejection of a commutator rail service in the state. Arizona governor Jan Brewer, signed legislation that overstepped the federal government's role in handling illegal immigration. The law is being challenged in court.

The Republican Party have created so many controversies, President Barack Obama's allies can't stop them all at once. My goal is simple. I will waste no time trying to help this man win reelection. I will no longer endorse the notion the Republicans are capable of fixing the economic turmoils we all are facing as Americans. I will continue to stand independent of the situation and offer my honest opinion of issues that matter.

Newsflash: There Is No Obama Mania Media, Conservative Assholes!

Only 9% Of President Obama’s News Coverage Positive

TPM lets people know that this wasn't a free ride for President Barack Obama and the media. I can hear Sean Hannity say the "Obama Mania Mainstream Media" once again!

Study finds harsh media coverage for Obama

By Brian Montopoli, CBS News
President Obama "has suffered the most unrelentingly negative treatment" of all presidential candidates over the past five months, according to a study released Monday from the Pew Research Center's Project for Excellence in Journalism.

Pew found that Mr. Obama was the subject of negative assessments nearly four times as often as he was the subject of positive assessments. It found he received "positive" coverage nine percent of the time, "neutral" coverage 57 percent of the time and "negative" coverage 34 percent of the time.

The study, which was conducted using a combination of "traditional media research methods [and] computer algorithms to track the level and tone of coverage," cuts against the widespread conservative claim that the "liberal media" aides Mr. Obama and other Democrats while attacking Republicans.

Pew says it looked at coverage from more than 11,500 news outlets, including local and national broadcasts, news websites and blogs.

Mr. Obama's negative coverage could be explained in part by the fact that he is "covered largely as president rather than a candidate," Pew said - and coverage of him is linked to the struggling economy.

Among the Republican presidential candidates, Pew found that Rick Perry has received the most positive coverage of all the candidates, with 32 percent positive coverage. He was followed by Sarah Palin (31 percent), Michele Bachmann (31 percent), Herman Cain (28 percent) and Mitt Romney (26 percent.) Palin, a vocal critic of the media, ultimately decided not to seek the GOP nomination.

Perry had the best ratio of any candidate, with 32 percent positive coverage to 20 percent negative coverage, a 12 percent net positive ratings in terms of coverage. He was followed by Palin (with 9 percent net positive coverage), Bachmann (8 percent net positive), Cain (5 percent net positive), Ron Paul and Jon Huntsman (both with 4 percent net positive coverage.) Pew found that Cain surged in positive coverage starting in late August - even before he did so in the polls.

The only candidate who received more negative coverage than Mr. Obama was Newt Gingrich, whom Pew found was the subject of negative coverage 35 percent of the time. That can be attrubited in part to his early stumbles, including his criticism of the House GOP Medicare plan and the decision by top staffers to abandom Gingrich's campaign. While Pew found that Mr. Obama received just nine percent positive coverage, however, Gingrich received 15 percent positive coverage.

The candidates with the worst coverage ratio were Mr. Obama (25 percent net negative coverage), Gingrich (20 percent net negative), Rick Santorum (3 percent net negative) and Mitt Romney (1 percent net negative.)

As Politico's Keach Hagey notes, Pew found that Mr. Obama had widely positive media coverage during his first 100 days in office, with 42 percent positive coverage and 20 percent negative coverage.

Here's how Pew in part explains its meathodology - more can be found here:
To assess the tone of coverage, PEJ researchers then employed computer algorithmic software from Crimson Hexagon. Researchers conducted a tone analysis and then "trained" the algorithm to follow the same rules as they had themselves. PEJ also conducted inter-coder tests to ensure the computer coding was replicable and valid by comparing human coding to the results derived by the algorithm. The project also had different people build the algorithms separately to ensure that they were achieving consistent results. Each computer algorithm was then additionally tested for reliability by having multiple researchers review the content assessed and the results. The tone analysis was conducted on two different samples. The first was of the coverage and commentary on more than 11,500 news outlets, based on their RSS feeds. While the content is text based, the material on various television news sites often closely resembled the stories that had aired on television, and in some cases were exact transcripts. The second was from hundreds of thousands of blogs. (Facebook and Twitter feeds were not included after researchers found that the political assessment offered there was typically quite brief or referred to blog or news content.)

Yeah, We Have A Jobs Plan! We Have Pictures! | The Republican Culture War

Republicans are opposing the American's Jobs Act that President Barack Obama presented to the Congress. The plan calls for $448 billion in job creation, infrastructure and spending cuts for the middle class. The president's plan calls for tax increases on the high end earners. The Republicans oppose the tax increases and just about everything the president wants. We're in gridlock right now and people are suffering. The overall job approval is 15% and Americans are really fed up with the way Congress is acting.

The America's Job Creator Plan is a ten page plan in which includes tax cuts, deregulation and the repeal of the Affordable Health Care for America Act (Obamacare).

Key Republicans want to pass a clearly partisan bill in which they know President Obama will reject upon its passage.  Senator John McCain (R-Arizona), Senator Jim DeMint (R-South Carolina), Senator Rand Paul (R-Kentucky) and Senator Kay Bailey Hutchinson (R-Texas) once again prove that even if they wanted to try they fail at doing so!

President Barack Obama jobs plan is 200 pages. The Republicans have ten pages. There's something wrong here!

Opinion: The job crisis: Solved in 10 pages?
GOP’s Plan for America’s Job Creators is empty of any real solutions
STAFF COLUMNIST
June 3, 2011

House Republicans, led by Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.), recently released their Plan for America’s Job Creators. The document, as well as a shortened summary version, can be accessed from http://majorityleader.gov.

When I first opened the full document, I thought I had chosen the summary by mistake. As Paul Krugman notes, it “has to rely on extra-large type and lots of pointless pictures to bulk it out even to 10 pages.” Indeed, the equivalent of four pages of the document consists of images of cars at the gas station, scissors cutting red tape, and the like. Another page is a platitude-ridden introduction that could be substituted by manic repetition of the phrases “common-sense,” “pro-growth,” “job creators,” and “remove Washington” to the same effect.

But what of the other five pages? Surely there is some substance in there! Let us explore the House

Republican eight-pronged approach to job creation.

First we must deal with the problem of “burdensome regulations.” (I only use quotes because “burden” is mentioned no less than five times in half a page.) House Republicans offer the sensible first step of passing “legislation that requires a congressional review and approval of any proposed federal government regulation that will have a significant impact on the economy.” If you are as impressed as I initially was, take note of which regulations House Republicans have singled out for the chopping block: EPA-mandated limits on greenhouse gas emissions, the FCC’s net neutrality proposal, and restrictions on pesticide use. Of course.

Next on the agenda is the quixotic yet admirable task of fixing the tax code once and for all. Their proposal is a flat federal tax rate of 25 percent for businesses and individuals. If this proposal sounds ridiculous to anyone with concern for the poor and the working class, be comforted by the fact that Republicans only want to “ensure that everyone pays their fair share.” Never mind the fact that such a change would actually raise the effective income tax rate for the vast majority of Americans. As a benchmark for comparison, a married couple filing jointly with a taxable income of $282,000 currently pays about 25 percent income tax. House Republicans’ goal to cut taxes solely for the wealthiest Americans is abundantly clear.

The third proposal — to pass free trade agreements with Colombia, Panama, and South Korea — has apparently been blocked by Democrats’ posturing for three years. Well, one politician’s posturing is another politician’s attention to human rights abuses in Colombia or the well-being of auto workers in America.

The fourth step is fostering entrepreneurship by reforming the U.S. patent system. This proposal has received broad bipartisan support and collaboration. The House Patent Reform Act of 2011 was passed in the House Judiciary Committee by a vote of 32-3 on April 14. In short, it is not a solely Republican solution as the document declares.

The next two opportunities for improvement are visa reform and the reauthorization of the FDA user fee programs, through which the FDA collects money from companies seeking drug or medical device approval in order to test said products. I don’t have much to say about these proposals, mostly because they are hardly even proposals. House Republicans do not make plain exactly what they plan to do, but they do make it apparent that they will be Creating American Jobs. Indeed, I’m not sure what the purpose is of the page allotted to these two topics. I wonder whether Eric Cantor and his ilk are hoping that if they repeat the phrases “job creation,” “job creators,” “create American jobs,” etc. — which they did 31 times in the 86-sentence document — they will ingrain in the reader a subconscious association between Republicans and job creation.

Now, what do House Republicans have to say about energy? They first make it clear that the problem is rising energy costs and point out that, since President Obama took office, the price of a gallon of gas has doubled. This is a facile and erroneous observation and an obvious attempt to falsely pin blame to Obama.

Gas prices fell dramatically after the record-setting summer of 2008 because of the global economic meltdown.

The fact that they started to rise afterward has nothing to do with the president.

To suggest that we should prefer an economy in shambles over $4-per-gallon gasoline is ridiculous. What’s more, the primary method that Republicans have suggested to lower gas prices is “Drill, baby, drill.” They don’t seem to realize that feeding an addiction is nothing more than a short-term solution.

And House Republicans don’t stop there. They go on to fault Obama and congressional Democrats for our largest-ever budget deficits. As ignorant of history as ever, they overlook the budget surpluses of a decade ago and the catastrophic effects of the global financial collapse.

With the way they continue to insult the American people with these so-called “solutions,” it’s obvious House Republicans do not take us seriously, and we have every reason to respond in kind.

Case tests Ohio's guns-in-bars law | The Republican Culture War

I own a conceal carry permit to own a firearm.

The Ohio Republican legislature passed a open firearm in bar bill in 2011. The governor John Kasich, first term has been marred in controversy. The SB 5 bill which strips public sector unions of collective bargaining, calling the Upper Arlington police officer who stopped him "an idiot", partisan redistricting to favor Republicans, and his golf outing with Ohio House Speaker John Boehner, Vice President Joe Biden and President Barack Obama has sunk job approval to low 40s.

Governor Kasich, the former host of Fox News program Heartland also has ties to NewsCorporation, Incorporated. The media network is involved in a major scandal over here and in the United Kingdom.

Here's an example of putting water on a grease fire:

Chad O’Reilly

Facts about Ohio’s new gun law

• The law allows people with concealed-carry permits to keep their guns with them when they enter one of the state’s 17,000 bars, restaurants or nightclubs where alcohol is served. The law also allows a permit holder to have a loaded handgun in a vehicle even if the gun is not secured in a holster or container.

• Businesses still can ban guns on their premises by posting a sign stating guns are not permitted.

• No one is allowed to drink alcohol while carrying a gun. Doing so is a third-degree felony punishable by up to five years in prison.

• Eight other states specifically allow people with proper permits to carry guns into bars. A dozen other states prohibit guns in bars.
A Deer Park man became the first in Greater Cincinnati to face charges under Ohio’s “guns in bars” law Wednesday when he was arrested for threatening to kill a fellow bar patron.

Chad O’Reilly’s arrest came two weeks after the law took effect and immediately reignited debate between gun-rights activists and those who wanted to continue a statewide ban on guns in bars.

“This law is so absurd,” said Toby Hoover, director of the Ohio Coalition Against Gun Violence. “Without this law, maybe some fists would have flied. Instead, he’s waving a gun around.”

Supporters of the new law say it worked as intended in this case. They say O’Reilly will lose his concealed-carry permit and could face up to five years in jail if he is convicted of violating the new gun law – stiffer penalties than he would have faced under the old law.

“This fellow made a serious mistake,” said state Sen. Bill Seitz, R-Green Township, who supported changing the law. “Nothing in the law allows you to do anything other than carry a gun into an establishment if you have a permit.

“It does not give you license to brandish a gun and wave it around.”

Police say the incident occurred around 2 a.m. Wednesday when O’Reilly, who has a permit to carry a concealed weapon, got into a heated argument with another man at the H&H Tavern on Ohio Avenue in Deer Park.

They say O’Reilly, 25, walked out of the bar and returned a short time later with a .40-caliber semiautomatic Glock pistol in his hand.

According to the arrest report, O’Reilly shouted a racial slur at the man, who is Hispanic, and said, “I’m going to kill you.”

Deer Park police say O’Reilly’s friends ushered him out of the bar and police arrested him at gunpoint a few minutes later. He did not resist and no one was hurt.

O’Reilly, who police said had been drinking, was charged with aggravated menacing, ethnic intimidation, possession of a controlled substance (injectable testosterone) and illegal possession of a firearm in a liquor establishment.

The latter charge is related to Ohio’s new law, which allows concealed-carry permit holders to bring weapons into bars, restaurants, nightclubs and other places that serve liquor as long as they do not drink alcohol.

Ohio law previously had forbidden guns in those businesses, with or without a concealed-carry permit.

Because O’Reilly had been drinking, police say, he violated the new gun law. The other charges relate to the threats he is accused of making while brandishing the gun.

Ohio is one of several states to adopt some version of the guns in bars law, with gun-rights advocates arguing it makes sense to allow law-abiding citizens to carry their weapons rather than keep them at home or locked in a car when they go out.

The law does not allow drinking while carrying a gun and gives bar owners the option of putting up a sign banning guns on their premises.

The H&H Tavern had no such sign, but owner Dave Anderson said it soon will. He said his bar never had a problem with gun-toting patrons before and blames the new law for the incident Wednesday morning.

“I believe in the right to bear arms, but I believe that law was made in bad judgment,” Anderson said. “It’s not good for any small business to have people carrying firearms in.”

Deer Park police Lt. Daniel McCormack said O’Reilly told police he tucked his gun into his waistband, without a holster, before entering the tavern. The bartender told police he served O’Reilly two beers before the incident.

“I’m a shooter and I believe in concealed carry,” McCormack said. “But any time you have alcohol and guns, it’s just not a good mix.”

The same argument was made often when legislators debated the new law earlier this year. The Ohio Restaurant Association, with more than 2,400 members, opposed the law on grounds that alcohol and guns are a bad combination.

Seitz and others, however, have said the nearly 250,000 Ohioans with concealed-carry permits are law-abiding citizens who should be allowed to keep their firearms with them.

To obtain a concealed-carry permit, a person must complete at least 12 hours of training, including two hours on a firing range, pass a criminal background check and pay various fees.

Seitz said the potential penalties O’Reilly faces for violating the law should discourage other permit holders from drinking while carrying a gun.

“The draconian sanctions on those who violate this law will act as a deterrent on those who would do something foolish in the future,” Seitz said.

Anderson, the bar owner, said he just doesn’t want a repeat of what happened Wednesday morning.

“We’ve been in business 21 years,” he said. “We’ve never had a thing like this happen before.”

Big Sis fear campaign continues, but Americans are just as likely to be killed by peanut allergies than they are in terrorist attacks

A new promotional video released by the Department of Homeland Security characterizes white middle class Americans as the most likely terrorists, as Big Sis continues its relentless drive to cement the myth that mad bombers are hiding around every corner, when in reality Americans are just as likely to be killed by lightning strikes or peanut allergies.

The video is part of Homeland Security’s $10 million dollar “See Something, Say Something” program that encourages Americans to report “suspicious activity,” which in every case throughout history has been a trait of oppressive, dictatorial regimes.

In the course of the 10 minute clip, a myriad of different behaviors are characterized as terrorism, including opposing surveillance, using a video camera, talking to police officers, wearing hoodies, driving vans, writing on a piece of paper, and using a cell phone recording application.

Despite encouraging viewers not to pay attention to a person’s race in determining whether or not they may be a terrorist, almost all of the scenarios in the clip proceed to portray white people as the most likely terrorists. Bizarrely, nearly every single one of the “patriotic” Americans who reports on their fellow citizen is either black, Asian or Arab. Imagine if the video had portrayed every terrorist as an Arab and every patriotic snoop as white, there’d be an outcry and rightly so, but this strange reversal must have been deliberate on the part of the DHS, but why? Is this merely political correctness taken to the extreme or is something deeper at work?

Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that the DHS’ own internal documents list predominantly white conservative groups as the most likely terrorists, such as Ron Paul supporters, gun owners, gold bullion enthusiasts, and a myriad of other comparatively banal political interests that are largely the domain of white middle class Americans.

This has little to do with the color of a person’s skin, and everything to do with the fact that white, middle class Americans are the biggest roadblock when it comes to Big Sis expanding its control over every facet of American society.

It’s plain to see that very little of the budget for this video went towards paying for decent actors, but perhaps it’s fitting that the participants were about as believable as Santa and his elves, because the notion that terrorists are hovering around every underground parking lot waiting to blow up federal buildings is demonstrably false.

As Ohio University’s John Mueller has documented, the likelihood of actually being a victim of terrorism is infinitesimally small, and only highlights how such threats are hyperbolically exaggerated for political purposes.

Figures collected by Mueller clearly show that Americans are just as likely to be killed by lightning strikes, accident-causing deer, or severe allergic reactions to peanuts.

But the facts don’t matter for a federal agency whose primary function is to manufacture fear to keep Americans under control and submissive to the fact that their economic futures and their constitutional rights are being torn to shreds by their own government while it points to a contrived outside threat as a convenient distraction.

“At its core, the video is filled with scenes of ordinary citizens spying on each other and alerting the authorities to their compatriots’ suspicious deeds,” writes Simon Black. In my favorite scene, a woman calls the police after snooping over the shoulder of a young man typing away on his smartphone.”

Black notes that such videos are solely aimed at reinforcing ignorance, hate and fear for those who still live in darkness and are completely unaware of the real agenda behind Homeland Security’s “see something, say something” charade.

But what is that agenda?

No matter where you look, from East Germany, to Communist Russia, to Nazi Germany, historically governments who encourage their own citizens to report on each other do so not for any genuine safety concerns or presumed benefits to security, but in order to create an authoritarian police state that coerces the people into policing each other’s behavior and thoughts.

As Robert Gellately of Florida State University has highlighted, Germans under Hitler denounced their neighbors and friends not because they genuinely believed them to be a security threat, but because they expected to selfishly benefit from doing so, both financially, socially and psychologically via a pavlovian need to be rewarded by their masters for their obedience.

At the height of its influence around one in seven of the East German population was an informant for the Stasi. As in Nazi Germany, the creation of an informant system was wholly centered around identifying political dissidents and those with grievances against the state, and had little or nothing to do with genuine security concerns.

This is the kind of society the Department of Homeland Security is, whether deliberately or inadvertently, recreating in 21st century America. It is about as far removed as you can possibly get from the vision the founders of the nation had in mind when they created the Bill of Rights and the Declaration of Independence.

Comment by Alex Jones: This DHS video is purposefully designed to transmit fear and hatred of Muslims over to white Americans. Look at the part of the clip where an image of “Jihad Jane” is displayed, the blue eyes are artificially intensified in order to get the message across.

This is about playing minorities off against whites, creating further resentment and suspicion, getting us at each other’s throats just as how different racial groups were set upon each other in Hitler’s Germany to create an environment of fear and distrust, motivating people to inform on each other for the state.

I will be making a special comment on this story during the show today.

CREDIT! Charge it to the Republicans.

HATERS GONNA HATE -
OSAMA BIN LADEN EDITION

I am starting to notice this pattern of what goes on in the mainstream press. The very fact that one president accomplished a difficult mission with success, his critics want to blame him for not crediting the predecessor.

President Barack Obama successfully order the capture or kill of a major terrorist. He succeeds in ordering Navy SEALs to find Osama bin Laden in a town outside of Islamabad, Pakistan. Although the official analysis of the mission is still being detailed, many of his critics felt that former president George W. Bush and his administration deserves most of the credit.

Republicans in less than 24 hours crediting Bush for the negligent interrogations and torture of detainees at the Guantanamo Bay Military Base prison. The conservatives fault President Obama for giving a proper burial of bin Laden and not releasing the graphic photos of the dead. Potential presidential candidates are trying their best not to credit Obama for the mission's success.

Sarah Palin, Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum and Mike Huckabee give praise to the mission, but avoid thanking President Obama for the mission's success.

And even as Rasmussen Polls say no significant bump and the Drudge Report goes forth with the usual race-baiting stories, conservatives are really desperate overlook the fact that a major headache to the United States is no longer among us.

President Obama gets a strong bump in his handling of terrorism, foreign policies and national defense. But still low marks on economy and job production. The Republicans look forward to paint the economy to Obama's domestic polices.

Salon has written an article to the narrative the credit issue.

Expect these talking points from either a conservative or a Republican

This was all thanks to George W. Bush
This was also thanks to torture

Bill Clinton is responsible for 9/11
Osama bin Laden wasn't such a big deal anyway

A New Drudge? Ask Arianna Huffington about it!

Mega blogger Arianna Huffington sold her popular liberal blog Huffington Post to AOL for $315 million. Started in 2005, the news site surpass the controversial conservative Drudge Report in 2009. It attracts many including myself to read the latest in politics, entertainment and media.

Arianna Huffington is also involved in her talk radio shows Left, Right and Center, Both Sides with Huffington and Matlin, and voice acting for Seth MacFarlane/Mike Henry's The Cleveland Show.

The new Arianna Huffington-run AOL news operation has fired scores of AOL business and finance freelancers, and is offering them the opportunity to work again—for free, according to reports from contributors. The popular liberal's controversial labor practices are triggering another uproar over AOL's multi-million-dollar acquisition of the Huffington Post, and have already spurred calls by journalists and union leaders for an "electronic" strike. Some of the canned freelancers are being offered staff jobs in the new operation, which is headed by Huffington, though numbers have not been revealed. All others have been told they can continue to write for free, reports the Business Insider. The Huffington Post has come under intense fire from its own unpaid freelancers, who complain that they helped create the operation that Huffington sold to AOL for $315 million. A Huffington Post-AOL spokesman denied "mass terminations" are underway, and said the changes are part of a strategy to "shift from relying on freelancers and contractors to investing in full-time staff." Many AOL workers are stunned by Huffington's power in the new set up. "I've never seen someone buy a company and then give the keys to the safe to the people who run that company," an AOL staffer tells the Guardian.

Newser and the Guardian (UK) contribute to the story.

Insane In The Bachmann!

Insane in the Bachmann!

Congresswoman Michele Bachmann relays the normal talking points of conservative media.

Such talking points fuel speculation that the congresswoman may push her tin foil hat into the arena.

This is the most misinformed politician in modern history.

Why on earth should anyone support the reincarnation of Joe McCarthy?

Nevermind, she already having a cult based following who reads comments like mine and rehash their attacks against people who don't support her, the Tea Party, Fox News, Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, Sarah Palin and anything else they claim as "conservative".

Note the quotation marks, people! They aren't conservative!

They will attack me as a dependent on government handouts, a radical "socialist", an Obama zombie, a misinformed blogger, commentator, publisher of a written article, and repeat the notion there's only "liberal media".

Since I'm a Black person, they'll just say I'm a "racist" for voting for Barack Obama because it's not fair that Black American voters have a choice between their candidate and the "BLACK" Democratic candidate.

Supporters of the conservatives mentioned will use either class warfare rhetoric, name calling, patriotic mongering, use of racial, homophobic, and disability slurs, and petty smears against the president, his family, Vice President Biden and the Democratic leadership.

So what's new people?

Bohener Tosses Out "WHERE THE JOBS" Theme Once Again!

My congressman, Speaker of The House John Boehner (R- Ohio) continues his foot in his mouth leadership tour!

If spending cuts kill jobs, ‘so be it’: Boehner

By Sahil Kapur

WASHINGTON – House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) on Tuesday showed little concern for the federal job losses that could result from the GOP's proposed spending cuts.

"In the last two years, under President Obama, the federal government has added 200,000 new federal jobs. If some of those jobs are lost so be it. We're broke," Boehner told reporters, according to Talking Points Memo.

"The biggest danger to our country is if we do not act," the speaker added. "The status quo is shackling the future for our kids and grandkids – that's why we have to act."

Republicans have proposed a slew of budget cuts worth $32 billion to a multitude of federal programs.

GOP lawmakers have long insisted that federal spending cuts and job growth go hand in hand, portraying heavy government spending as a prime cause of the economic downturn.

"Where are the jobs?" was an oft-repeated slogan by Boehner during the 2010 midterm election cycle, as he and his colleagues attacked Democrats' stimulus and other spending programs.

But Boehner's remarks not only reveal that Republicans accept those two goals may be contradictory, they suggest that the GOP considers spending cuts a higher priority.

As the unemployment rate remains high at well above 9 percent, surveys consistently show that jobs are the top concern on voters minds.

President Barack Obama unveiled his budget this week, also calling for across-the-board cuts to various programs, receiving criticism from progressives and being dismissed as insufficient by Republicans.

So Much For The Job Pledge By The Republicans!

GOP-led House is moving to restrict funding of abortions

By William Douglas | McClatchy Newspapers

WASHINGTON — The battle over abortion takes center stage in Congress this week as two House subcommittees hold hearings on separate bills that would expand restrictions on federal funding of abortions.

The "No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act" would eliminate tax breaks for abortions. The "Protect Life Act" would restrict use of federal funds for abortions under the new health care law. While both may pass the Republican-controlled House of Representatives, their prospects of passing a Democratic-held Senate or escaping President Barack Obama's veto pen are slim to none.

"They can't expect this legislation to go beyond the House or Representatives," said Steve Smith, a political science professor at Washington University in St. Louis. "It allows the House Republicans to do something symbolically important for their coalition base."

Still, the bills have alarmed abortion-rights advocates, who say they are attempts to attack legalized abortion — federally funded or not — through the tax code and measures to deny women access to the procedure.

"These bills represent a new front in the abortion war," said Donna Crane, policy director for NARAL Pro-Choice America. "The idea...of using the tax code to impose political views, that's extremely alarming."

Opponents of legal abortion, emboldened by powerful support in a Republican-controlled House, say the bills are just the beginning.

"The Republicans in the House are definitely following the promise they made to undo the damage that's been done," said Kerry Brown, a spokeswoman for Susan B. Anthony List, an anti-abortion group.

The "No Taxpayer for Abortion Act," designated H.R. 3 and sponsored by Rep. Chris Smith (R-N.J.), seeks to codify provisions of the so-called Hyde Amendment, which prohibits federal funding for abortion but must be renewed by Congress annually.

In addition, Smith said his bill would "permanently end any U.S. government financial support for abortion whether it be direct funding or by tax credits or any other subsidy." A House Judiciary subcommittee will hold a hearing on it Tuesday.

Smith's bill stirred a huge uproar among abortion-rights advocates by listing victims of "forcible rape" among those who would be exempted from the bill.

"Forcible rape" wasn't fully defined in the bill, but abortion-rights supporters warned that the term could be used to block access to abortion for rape victims who were drugged, unconscious or mentally ill.

A spokesman for Smith said the term was dropped from the bill Thursday after Smith concluded that the term was being "misconstrued." That wasn't enough to satisfy abortion supporters.

"The fact that it took weeks of public outrage before the new House leadership was shamed into giving up one if its efforts to redefine rape to deny women access to abortion shows how out of touch they are with the values of the American people," said Cecile Richards, president of Planned Parenthood Federation of America. "Simply put, the now discarded 'forcible rape' provision is just the beginning of what's wrong with Rep. Smith's bill."

Like Smith's bill, the Protect Life Act, or H.R. 358, sponsored by Rep. Joe Pitts (R-Pa.), seeks to restrict the use of federal funds under the new health care law, but isn't as aggressive in terms of using the tax code. The House Energy and Commerce health subcommittee, which Pitts chairs, will hold a hearing on it Wednesday.

Late last week, abortion-rights supporters turned their attention to Pitts' bill, saying it contains language that would allow hospitals to deny a woman an abortion, even if her life were in jeopardy.

Andrew Wimer, a Pitts spokesman, calls the accusation false. He said the language is an attempt to include in the health care law a "conscience clause" for doctors and hospitals that object to performing abortions.

"These are typical attacks that come up," Wimer said.

Abortion foes both in and out of Congress say they're undeterred by criticism. Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, said that taking on abortion would be a House priority under his leadership.

"A ban on taxpayer funding of abortions is the will of the people, and it ought to be the will of the land," Boehner told reporters last month. "The current law, particularly as enforced by this administration, does not reflect the will of the American people."

One of Boehner's guests at Obama's State of the Union address last month was Cardinal Donald Wuerl, archbishop of Washington, D.C. The United States National Conference of Catholic Bishops has endorsed both bills.

Brown of Susan B. Anthony's List said that backing from Boehner and 80 of the 87 new House Republicans will improve their chances of getting legislation through.

NARAL's Crane looks at the diminishing numbers of abortion supporters in the House and the rising GOP numbers in the Senate and worries. While many experts believe a measure to restrict access to legalized abortion couldn't make its way from the Senate to Obama's desk, Crane isn't so sure.

She counts 40 senators who solidly support abortion rights, 46 who oppose abortion — and the rest of them sitting on the fence.

NARAL's strategy for dealing with the changing landscape: "Make sure the White House is the ultimate firewall," Crane said.

Chris Matthews Calls Birthers 'Crackers' (VIDEO)

Some on the political left have inflammatory rhetoric!

Chris Matthews continues to make the rift between reality and insanity grow.

Throwing out this racial slur isn't productive to the public cries for civility. Since it's on the Huffington Post, it's almost certain that NewsBusters or The Drudge Report will seize on the comment and run this "fire Matthews" campaign from the Fox News camp.

Chris Matthews is no better than the average Glenn Beck or Sean Hannity on their worse day with a headache and sour throat.

I usually throw my most harshest comments at Rush Limbaugh, Matt Drudge, Andrew Breitbart, Bill O'Reilly, Greta Van Susteren, Beck and Hannity! But it's going to be some my harshest comments aimed at Matthews, Ed Schultz, Eliot Spitzer, Keith Olbermann, Stephanie Miller, and Randi Rhodes!

The left should let the right destroy themselves. We know [these conservatives] are not productive to public discourse, why are you stooping to their level?

The left talkers shouldn't feed the fire of those who relish in this division and divisiveness of the American political movement! After this comment, I'll be willing to tone it down only if the heated rhetoric is lowered a notch!

If You Were A King, Who Would You Vote For? (Part 1)

REPUBLICANS AND MARTIN LUTHER KING

I made a video denouncing Republicans lame attempt to court Black voters with this "Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Was A Republican" campaign. Also took a parting shot at NPR and Fox News commentator Juan Williams.

if you are annoyed with Republicans and conservatives pushing this "Martin Luther King Jr. was a Republican", tell them the Democratic Party can claim the first black president and first woman House Speaker. Barack Obama was endorsed by Bernice King and Martin Luther King III, the leaders of the SCLC.

No matter how hard, France Rice and her Black Republicans tried, they failed in bring Blacks to the Republican Party. Just 12% of Blacks support the Republican Party.

The treatment of Michael Steele also shows that the Republicans have no patience for people who don't fit the agenda.

Conservatives whether they are Democrat or Republican harbor bigoted views towards, Blacks, Hispanics, Middle Eastern American, GLBT, and women.

Even though many who were close to the preacher claim that King was nonpartisan, this rumor was spewed on the internet by Rice and a former SCLC worker by the name of
Alveda King who was the niece of Dr. King.

Francis Rice her organization the National Black Republican Association tried to murky the Democratic primaries by present the tired Martin Luther King Jr. was a Republican. Thankfully this woman and her group were properly dismissed by many including the Southern Christian Leadership Conference.

The National Black Republicans Association (NBRA) is a Florida based group of African American conservatives. NBRA is led by Dr. Frances Rice, a staunch conservative who is an African American. Rice was former lieutenant colonel in the United States Air Force, by my account. Her group is funded by the Heritage Foundation and has at most over 100 members. http://nbra.info/

Lynn Swann, Michael Steele and J. Kenneth (Ken) Blackwell were the first Republican African Americans from their home state to run for higher political office. Swann lost in a race for Pennsylvania governor. Steele lost in a U.S. Senate race in Maryland, then later ran for the National Republican Chairman's position. Blackwell lost in a race for governor for Ohio. So far the only achievements in the Congress since J.C. Watts, Jr. are freshman Tea Party Republican Congressmen Allen West of Florida and Tim Scott of South Carolina.

I can't say much about Michael Steele, these days. He embroiled in a major scandal right now and is at the verge of being fired by Republicans. He stumbled by apologize to Rush Limbaugh, spending on his book tour and lavish parties. Steele, a moderate Black Republican claims he's a conservative.

Did anyone remind these clowns on the right that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was nonpartisan?

Did anyone remind these clowns on the right that, Martin Luther King, Jr. and Coretta Scott King were considered liberal for their views on civil rights, human rights, stance against the Vietnam War and concerns for poverty?

Did anyone remind these clowns that 1960s New York Congressman Emanuel Celler, Democrat drafted the bill? By the way, he was a White Jewish man who pushed for equal rights.

Did these clowns on the right happen to mention that the 88th and 89th United States Congress was controlled by Democratic Party?

Did anyone remind these clowns about Wisconsin Senator Joseph McCarthy, Arizona Senator Berry Goldwater, both Republicans and their stances on civil rights?

Did anyone remind these clowns on the right about J. Edgar Hoover's attempts to label Dr. King a "communist" and "socialist"? It's kind of like today's modern conservatives are attacking President Obama by labeling him as such!

Did anyone remind these clowns about current West Virgina Senator Robert Byrd, denouncing his past and endorsing then-senator Barack Obama for president?

Can someone remind the Republicans that non-whites (Black, Hispanic, Arab, Asian, and Native Americans) have very little support for the party today! In the 2006 Midterm Elections, the GOP won 51% of white votes, 37% of Asian votes, and 30% of Hispanic votes, while winning only 10% of Black votes.

Can someone remind the Republicans, that the Democratic Party can claim the first Black president?

I'm just saying!

Today's Republican Party is embolden in the divisive politics once practiced 50 years ago. They have no concerns about Civil Rights! They are not reaching out to non-white voters. And sure the Republicans this year won the midterms with gains and least members of Congress who are non-white, their positions are setbacks to the achievements of Dr. Martin Luther King.

Anyone who harbors conservative views, whether they are Democrat, Republican or Independent are single issue voters who have a bigoted view of Blacks, Hispanics, Arab Americans, Native Americans, women and GLBT.

I am not a race-baiter or a Democrat. I am an independent voter who is socially liberal, fiscally conservative. Pretty much a moderate. I don't follow groups and you are not my brother. I have a sister.

Hide The Jewelry, Cause The GOP In The House!

GOP leaders tout wins as referendum on the Democratic leadership

The Washington Post - Felicia Sonmez

Fresh off sweeping wins in Tuesday's midterm elections, House Minority Leader John Boehner, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Republican Governors Association Chairman Haley Barbour said Wednesday morning at a Capitol news conference that their resounding victories were a referendum on Democratic leadership.

Democrats, meanwhile, cast their defeat at the ballot box as the result of Americans' continuing frustration with the pace of economic recovery as well as a flood of spending by outside groups.

Republicans' across-the-board wins "sent a very loud message" that voters want a "smaller, less costly and more accountable government here in Washington, D.C.," Boehner said.

McConnell told reporters that the election showed that "choosing the president over your constituents is not a good strategy," and that voters "appreciated us saying no to the things the American people indicated they were not in favor of."

Barbour added that even Tuesday's governors' races were a referendum on the way things are going in Washington.

The trio addressed reporters one day after Republicans captured the House with gains of more than five dozen seats. In the Senate, Democrats narrowly avoided the doomsday scenario of losing their majority, and in gubernatorial races, the GOP saw big wins, although the Democratic Governors Association managed to win the governor's mansions in Hawaii, Connecticut and Vermont.

In a statement Wednesday afternoon, Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee Chairman Chris Van Hollen noted, as Republicans did, that Democrats' losses came about due to voter anger -- but he argued that voters were frustrated not with the Democratic leadership but rather with the still-struggling economy.

"Last night's election was a perfect political storm born out of the understandable frustration felt by the American people in response to high unemployment caused by the worst financial crash since the Great Depression," Van Hollen said. He added that "the record amount of secret money spent by right-wing outside groups turned this political storm into a category 3 political hurricane."

Boehner said that he spoke with President Obama Tuesday night and that the two "discussed working together." Boehner also said that he received a "very nice voicemail" from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and that he expects the coming transition in leadership to be "very smooth."

The Republican leader said that his party stands ready to work together with the president and Democrats when their goals align with the interest of the American people.

"We'll work with the administration when they agree with the people and confront them when they don't," Boehner said, citing spending, trade, debt and nuclear power as areas of possible bipartisan cooperation.

Notably absent from the news conference was Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele, who addressed reporters separately in a conference call earlier Wednesday.

"Last night was historic. It was important. But it was also sobering in many respects," said Steele, cautioning that "with this victory comes an enormous responsibility."

Steele, who is said to be considering a bid for a second term as RNC chairman despite a steady stream of calls for his ouster, also talked at length on the conference call about his own committee's role in the GOP's victories Tuesday.

But he also cast the party's wins as an "enormous moment" for the grass roots and that "no single person or committee does this alone."

Other party committees and conservative-leaning outside groups touted their respective roles in Tuesday's sweeping wins as well.

Guy Harrison, executive director of the National Republican Congressional Committee, which saw the biggest gains of the day, told reporters on a conference call Wednesday morning that the NRCC's role Tuesday was crucial in the defeats of longtime Democratic incumbents such as Reps. Ike Skelton (Mo.) and John Spratt (S.C.).

"I think there are a lot of people who can take credit for this," Harrison said, adding that "the fact is, our candidates would not have won without the help of the NRCC." Harrison also credited Boehner in particular for helping Republicans make gains in suburban districts and throughout the leader's home state of Ohio.

Meanwhile, the leadership of American Crossroads and Crossroads GPS, two conservative-leaning outside groups that played heavily this cycle, said in a roundtable with reporters Wednesday that their groups were instrumental in many big important GOP wins. The two groups raised more than $70 million total, much of which came from donors who opted against contributing to the beleaguered RNC.

American Crossroads Political Director Carl Forti said that the two groups had poured a total of more than $36 million into 13 Senate races and 18 House races since April. Forti noted that by being active in races such as the Kentucky and Missouri Senate contests, the groups freed up the National Republican Senatorial Committee to spend its resources on races in Democratic-leaning states such as Pennsylvania and Illinois.

Forti added that the groups "made a committed effort to expand the playing field in the House" by advertising in districts that were long thought to be safely in Democratic hands.

Asked whether the RNC could have done things differently this cycle, Mike Duncan, chairman of American Crossroads and a onetime chairman of the RNC, demurred.

"We're all part of a team," Duncan said, adding, "This is not about credit."

The Democratic Party Calls Out Fox News!

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is launching a new campaign to respond to the spin from conservative news outlets expected to follow President Obama's State of the Union address.

In a new mailer sent out Wednesday to the committee's four-million member e-mail list, supporters are invited to join the new "State of the Union 'Fact Check FOX' Team."

"This group of Democratic Party activists will stand at the ready to counter the lies and distortions that erupt from the rightwing media and Republican spin doctors like Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck following President Obama's State of the Union address on Wednesday night," the e-mail pitch says.

The DCCC is inviting members to send text messages, e-mails or use Facebook or Twitter to fact check the pundits weighing in after the speech.

Supporters who sign up for the program will also receive "rapid response fact check text alerts." The DCCC is aiming to recruit 5,000 new members to the fact-check team by midnight.

In addition to conservative heavyweights like Beck and Palin, former Bush adviser Karl Rove, Democratic strategist Joe Trippi and Fox News's Sean Hannity will contribute to the Fox News analysis after the president's address.

Tea Partying with White Supremacists! - White Supremacists and Far Right Militias Mobilizing Anger against President Obama

Al Jazeera Reports: White Power USA - The Rise of White Supremacists In The Age of Barack Obama.

With the election of the Barack Obama, a failing economy and anti-immigrant sentiment on the rise, some activists are calling it the perfect storm for recruitment by racist organisations.

Supremacist groups are reportedly targeting soldiers returning from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan as well as trying to become part of 'mainstream' conservatism by organising around the successful 'Tea Party' movement.

THE FAR RIGHT MILITIA MOVEMENT AND WHITE SUPREMACISTS BENEFIT FROM THE "TEA PARTY" PROTESTS!
- See the link on the Southern Poverty Law Center HateWatch link.

A new report from the Anti-Defamation League
© 2009 - 2010 Anti-Defamation League

The Tea Party phenomenon, which began with anti-tax rallies staged across the country on April 15, 2009, will continue as activists in almost every state are planning similar events on July 4. Notably, white supremacists are again planning to participate. As they have done with other political and social issues, for example, promoting the Ron Paul campaign and using the immigration debate, white supremacists and anti-Semites are planning to exploit Tea Parties to disseminate their hateful views and recruit a larger following.

.

Extremists plan to recruit at Tea Parties

Stormfront, the most popular white supremacist Internet forum, is home to discussion between extremists eager to influence the events. In addition to circulating a list of local organizers and promoting planned rallies, Stormfront members are trying to find ways to involve themselves in the events. In posts to the forum, many voice their intent to attend the Tea parties for the purpose of cultivating an "organized grassroots White mass movement."

Posts to Stormfront:

  • "We need a relevent [sic] transitional envelope-pushing flyer for the masses. Take these Tea Party Americans by the hand and help them go from crawling to standing independently and then walking toward racialism."

  • "We intervene to shape the new pro-White grassroots agenda from within the crowd. We intervene for active effect at the event, for advancement of White racial consciousness and solidarity, and for the growth of the organized grassroots White mass movement and the most perceptive racially aware activist element."

  • "I also agree that spreading the WN message at these events is a good idea-it's time already,we've gotta do it!! Carefully, of course."

  • "A big crowd of irate White folks protesting the government seems like the perfect time and place for us WN's to promote our cause, at least to my way of thinking."

  • "I distributed WN literature at the last Tea Party in Phoenix. I will be doing it again in July. This is the time and the place. For those on a budget, I would suggest printing business cards with the web address of your group or organization. Keep it simple."

  • "I think they'd be ideal for spreading WN literature and gaining recruits in large numbers, more quickly."

Tea Party Americans Coalition

An anti-Semite and white supremacist using the name "Whites Forward" created the Tea Party Americans Coalition (TPAC) as "a working group for serious White racialist ACTIVISTS in the US who want to effectively coordinate our efforts and intervene for effect in Tea Party-type events." Anti-Semitic, racist, and anti-immigrant themes run through the six issues on which the working group is based.

"Whites Forward" is hoping that TPAC will be the "genesis of our new White mass movement and the fertile womb for our pro-White political party." He has called on other white supremacist groups to align themselves with the coalition, "Take these Tea Party Americans by the hand and help them go from crawling to standing independently and then walking toward racialism." —Stormfront member "Whites Forward"including the Council of Conservative Citizens, the Nationalist Coalition, David Duke's EURO organization, and European Americans United.

Currently, 42 individuals have registered as TPAC members, including:

  • Don Black, well-known throughout the white supremacist and anti-Semitic community, both for his role as the founder and operator of Stormfront, and for his appearances and speeches at racist and anti-Semitic gatherings. Based in Florida, Black is a former Grand Dragon in the Ku Klux Klan who served prison time for plotting to invade the Caribbean island of Dominica and overthrow its government.

  • John Ubele, the Florida-based Operations Manager for the neo-Nazi Nationalist Coalition. A former member of the neo-Nazi National Alliance, Ubele was also a founding member of the Sons of Liberty Committee, a group whose stated goal was for "the interests of European Americans…to reign supreme in all deliberations and actions of our government." Ubele also hosted "Radio with John Ubele," a weekly radio program hosted on Stormfront.

National Alliance leader tells followers to spread neo-Nazi message at Tea Parties

Erich Gliebe, who heads the West Virginia-based National Alliance (NA), devoted a May 2009 Internet radio broadcast to recast the purpose of the Tea Parties as opportunities to unite the white race and motivate its members to action. Gliebe argued that white people have simply had enough of what he described as minorities relying on tax dollars to fund government programs. He explained that "middle class White Americans are finally protesting."

Optimistic that recruitment at the Tea Parties could expand his group's membership, Gliebe suggested that "a number of those who turned out on April 15th are ready to embrace the National Alliance's message." He also alleged that the NA had experienced an increase in applications and requests for information as a result of the Tea Parties.

Gliebe encouraged white people to exploit the events to form a movement that will address the "major issues facing White Americans today." Finally, he requested that individuals intending on participating in future tea parties distribute a pamphlet created by deceased National Alliance leader William Pierce.

White supremacist Billy Roper a Tea Party organizer in Arkansas

Billy Roper, who heads the white supremacist White Revolution group, based in Arkansas, is listed as an organizer on a Tea Party movement Web site. In a June 2009 post to the White Revolution blog, Roper claimed to be organizing a Tea Party in Arkansas and sending White Revolution "representatives who will be witnessing and converting lost souls at Tea Parties from North Carolina to Arizona." [emphasis in original]

A May blog post revealed that White Revolution members will attend local Tea Party protests and distribute leaflets and flyers. Their goal will be to "educate, activate, and recruit." The blog post encouraged readers to "plan to attend one to do your part for our race and nation!"
